Cassandra Pullos
I am an Accredited Family Law Specialist with over 40 years of experience, and in that time, I’ve guided people through some of the most challenging and defining moments of their lives.
My career began in Brisbane in 1985, in a firm known for producing several Supreme Court judicial officers. I was privileged to be mentored by one of Queensland’s pioneering women lawyers, whose guidance shaped my approach to practice. From her, I learned the importance of accuracy, attention to detail, and deep respect for the human experience behind every case. Those values became the foundation for Pullos Lawyers in 2008, and the principles I continue to instil in every young lawyer I mentor.
Although I worked initially in commercial and construction litigation, I soon realised that family law was where my passion lay. Relationship change impacts every part of a person’s life: their children, financial stability, business structures, future plans, and emotional well-being. Because of that, it also requires a consideration of almost every other area of law. My role is to be across these at all times to bring clarity to that complexity, and help clients rebuild their lives with confidence.
Grief, disappointment, uncertainty, and anger are all natural responses to a relationship breakdown. One of the most important parts of my work is helping clients gently reframe those feelings into future-focused strategies that protect long-term parent–child relationships. The privilege of guiding people through this transition and towards secure and hopeful futures is what continues to motivate me every day.
Over the past two decades, I have also played an active role in shaping the future of family law in Australia. After training in Collaborative Practice in the United States, I co-founded the Queensland Association of Collaborative Professionals, serving as its inaugural President for four years, and am also Past President of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals, which I helped establish nationally.
I am also a mediator, arbitrator, and one of Australia’s first trained Parenting Coordinators, a role focused on reducing conflict, supporting families to create healthier long-term communication and to comply with Court orders once made. My ongoing commitment to alternative dispute resolution stems from a simple belief: that families deserve pathways that minimise harm, maximise dignity, and emphasise outcomes that matter to them.
I’ve always believed that balance is the foundation of a fulfilled life, and it’s what keeps me passionate about the work that I do. I grew up working in my family’s Greek delicatessen, immersed in ingredients, stories, and the lively sense of community that comes from sharing food. That early experience shaped my love for culture and connection, and I still find enormous joy in cooking for family and friends.
I’m fascinated by the power of the collective to collaborate, socialise and produce, and I’ve become a keen beekeeper. There’s a lot to learn from biomimicry, and the beehive is a surprisingly insightful place to look!
Whatever family matter you’re navigating, you deserve clarity, protection, and a future you can look toward with confidence. I look forward to helping you build it.
